  • Turned out nice again and saved by the Rothbury scone (fruit) as fig roll packet appeared one shy by the time I arrived at Whittingham cross!

  • watbike first birthday party last night, pies, raffle, quiz, peas, loads of pictures a guest speaker and good crack with cycling folk. who’d of thought a canny night out based on bikes(and some beer)

  • Blyth to Craster, as long as the sea is on ya right you can’t get lost, however some needed a turn round lady burn lake at druridge to get their bearings!

  • Perfect conditions for the ride on Sunday good to see folks are getting out in earnest now. I rode a temporary bike for the trip down to Newbiggin as the old horse has gone way beyond baggy chain! Maybe time for a new steed or at the very least one you don’t need to pedal downhill.

  • How splendid, Ingram to Rothbury with hardly a breath of wind and it felt like July rather then April but the deception didn’t end there. This weeks fig rolls, own brand! however manged to get away with it employing slight of hand at Whittingham cross.

  • Enjoyed the bike ride on Easter Sunday perfect weather for a cycle in the Northumberland countryside.

    • Nice one Mark, better than munching through Easter eggs !

  • looking forward to this weekend ! suitcases packed ha ha , hope weather is good see you all there !

  • Goats on the roof, well most were round to the side but a great run up from Blyth with a canny group who enjoyed a goat T at the end.

  • Nice run up the Bowes railway path (route 11) last night, past the distant Angle of the North on fast downhill track, then under the A1 to finish at the Tyne (river and pub). canny man.

  • Blyth to Warkworth on lovely summer night then and a beer at the masons beer garden while watching the sun gan doon below the moontins!

  • According to the sage of watbike ( he who naz stuff, like bus routes and the life expectancy of a genuine fig roll) September is the best cycling month, and to be fair last night woz cracking. Tunnel, dilly line west up towards the angle ( not the pub), a zip down and under A1, Lady park over the A1,Teams then Tyne(river) then Tyne pub! We never got wet and the wind was canny, he maybe right. wheel on dude

  • Great night ride on Wednesday, Blyth to Newcastle tracks and roads to check out Fenwicks window then boolled to the quay to see the lights an have small glass of beer! Still sitting outside on a fine November evening …Ah its grim up north

  • Beamish, Sunderland and North Shields. Spent most of this ride on NCN routes 7 and 1 both sections were splendid today and very different and travelling east and north usually gives you some protection from prevailing winds in these parts. One slight spill from me (knocking some bark off), probably my fault in position, speed and stance on a right turn however a meter length strip of wet tiles gave no quarter.
